Founder and Executive Director
Matthew Spengler is responsible for leading the overall operation and strategic direction of Blueprint Schools Network.
Matt has been involved in school reform for more than twenty years as a teacher, leadership coach, nonprofit administrator, and as the founding principal of MetWest High School in Oakland, California.
Prior to launching Blueprint, Matt was the Program Director of The Education Innovation Laboratory at Harvard University (EdLabs), overseeing the implementation of field experiments in districts across the country.
He also served as Chief Academic Officer for Lighthouse Academies, a national nonprofit charter school management organization and as the National Director of New School Development for the Big Picture Company, where he worked with school districts and charter school leaders to create and sustain new elementary, middle, and high schools.
Matt received his A.B. from Harvard University and his M.Ed. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Urban Superintendents Program.
National Director of Strategic Partnerships
Debbie oversees all of Blueprint's work in Denver and is also responsible for overseeing the implementation of Blueprint's partnerships with districts across the country.
Prior to joining Blueprint, Debbie was the Chief Academic Officer for Jefferson County Public Schools, the largest school district in Colorado serving 154 schools and 86,000 students.
Debbie has served as a teacher, principal, curriculum administrator, and assistant superintendent.
She is a national trainer for school leaders across the country and currently sits on the board of directors for McREL (Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning).
Debbie received her A.B. from Boston College and a M.Ed. degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
National Director of Human Capital
Lori works with Blueprint Schools Network as the National Director of Human Capital.
Lori graduated from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis with majors in Management, International Business and Organization, and Human Resource Management.
In 2003, Lori received national recognition from the Human Resources Certification Institute by attaining the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation. In 2007, she completed the Executive Education program Managing Human Capital: Key Strategic Challenges at Harvard Business School.
Prior to working with Blueprint, Lori served as Director of Human Resources for Collier County Public Schools in Naples, Florida; Senior HR Administrator with the Office of the Secretary of the United States Senate; Vice President and Director of Human Resources at GMMB, a strategic communications firm in Washington, D.C.; and as Assistant Vice President and Director of Human Resources at Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston. Lori is an active national member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and HR Collier.
Lori is a 2011 graduate of GAIN (Growing Associates in Naples), a leadership program with the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce.
National Director of Finance and Operations
Jeff directs all of Blueprint's financial activities, fiscal policy development and implementation, technology, and operations.
Jeff has over ten years of experience serving in financial leadership roles with a variety of nonprofit organizations, higher education organizations, and government agencies. Most recently before joining Blueprint, he served as Director of Finance at Citizen Schools, a leading nationwide nonprofit education reform organization.
Jeff has a B.A. in Economics and a M.A in Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
