Blueprint’s approach to accelerating student achievement in low-performing schools is to partner with schools and districts to plan, implement and monitor school improvement initiatives that are aligned with our five-strategy framework. The strategies in this framework are derived from recent research into the successful practices of highly effective schools capable of closing the achievement gap between low-income students and their higher-income peers (Dobbie and Fryer, 2013). Blueprint was founded to implement these practices within traditional public schools.
Our partnerships are designed to leverage what schools and districts are already doing well and then build systems and share knowledge to ensure the strategies of our framework are implemented consistently and with high quality across all schools in our network.
Blueprint’s underlying goal is to gradually reduce our role in the reform process over time as we build school and district capacity to manage school improvement activities independently.
